We had a bankruptcy chapter 7 that included our house 2 years ago, later on we did a short sale on the house. We've saved a down payment and closing costs. How long do we have to wait to qualify for a 203k loan.

I had a mortgage in 2009 that was an FHA. I sold my house in 2016 as a short sale. I was able to pay off the original loan of $120,000. and the interest. I sold my house for $135,000. and was short late charges, refinance charges etc. I'm moving from Texas back to California. Can I qualify for a new loan there?

My husband and I had to sell our previous residence via short sale where we were a few months delinquent in our payments. Our credit scores are in the 580 vicinity and we are currently renting, but found a very reasonably priced home we would like to purchase in the neighboring town, which would be less per month than our current rent. Do we have any options right now? Short sale was closed in Nov. 2015.

We are coming to the end our our 3 year period from a Short Sale, and I was wondering if we are able to start the loan process (paperwork) prior to the transfer of title. I was told we are not able to even apply for the loan until the date the deed was transferred. Is this correct?

Our primary home was sold by short sale and closed last June 01, 2013. The loan was only under my wife's name and credit. We had investment properties each on our credit and names that were foreclosed in 2010 and 2012. We are planning on buying our primary home this year. Can we start the loan process now even before 3 years has passed since the short sale, 4 and 5 years after foreclosure, or do we need to wait for June 01, 2016 to start our FHA loan process? Our credit scores are on the high 600's and low 700's now with stable income from full time jobs. Thank you.

In 2008 my wife and I both lost our jobs due to the housing crisis. We had a FHA loan at the time and tried to work with countywide to short sale. Over the following 5 year period we brought offers on the home that they would not approve. They final foreclosed on us in 2013 with a much less off on home from bank sale. We were told in 2013 that we would have to wait until 2016 to qualify for another FHA mortgage, however we have just been told we could not qualify for an other FHA mortgage until 2018? We are very confused. Please advise, Thank you

In 2011, due to medical issues, we were forced into bankruptcy. We then had a short sale on our home in 2013. How long after the closing of the short sale do we have to wait before applying for an FHA loan?
