Is it possible to have a low credit score and still buy a home? We are planning to buy a home in the next year or two. The goal is to pay off all credit cards and everything on the credit report. The only loan we will still have is a car loan 13k. Our scores are low so it will be hard to get up to high 500's or 600's. We will attempt to have 6-7k down. Household income around 70k with one payment of $400 for car loan. Is this journey possible to get a home?
Thank you!

Looking into maybe purchasing a small foreclosure for 15,000. We will have 3,000 to put down. Would need a loan for like 13,500. Do they do loans that small? In the process of building up our credit. It's in the 550-580 range. Hoping to be approved somewhere. Have excellent reliable income. We are first time home buyer's.

I am pre-approved for an FHA first time home buyer.
I have made and offer and acceptance on a home.
FHA has done the appraisal.
FHA has done the final inspection.
My income, rent and credit reports and employment have been verified.
Paperwork has been sent to underwriter.

I have an average credit score of about 600, the same with my boyfriend. We have a good chunk of money for a down payment but have been turned down by two lenders. We make good money. We don’t currently have revolving credit, but have just been approved for secured credit cards. We would like to purchase in the next month or so rather than waiting. Is there anything we can do?

I've never owned a home and have been paying rent for about ten years. When I think about how much I've spent with nothing to show, it makes me think that I've made a big mistake. Aren't there low down payment programs to help people like me who don't have a lot saved up?
