We have a friend who is in the process of purchasing her first home and is applying for an FHA loan. She has been told conflicting things about obtaining a grant from the Down Payment Plus program. Can you help shed some light on this?

Thanks.

My son in law wants to purchase 10 acres of land, which includes a 3 bedroom\2 bath mobile home. He has been at his job for 12 years, but has no credit. He'd like to put 10% down. He's 57 years old and would be a first time home buyer. Would he qualify for a FHA mortgage?

Is it possible to have a low credit score and still buy a home? We are planning to buy a home in the next year or two. The goal is to pay off all credit cards and everything on the credit report. The only loan we will still have is a car loan 13k. Our scores are low so it will be hard to get up to high 500's or 600's. We will attempt to have 6-7k down. Household income around 70k with one payment of $400 for car loan. Is this journey possible to get a home?
Thank you!

I have an average credit score of about 600, the same with my boyfriend. We have a good chunk of money for a down payment but have been turned down by two lenders. We make good money. We don’t currently have revolving credit, but have just been approved for secured credit cards. We would like to purchase in the next month or so rather than waiting. Is there anything we can do?
